6.1. Backlight Control
The backlight can be controlled using the following methods.
• Control by pressing the backlight function control key
• Control using the backlight control property
Press the backlight function control key (Default: [M3] key with [SF] key held down) to switch the backlight
function between enabled/disabled.
With the backlight function enabled, press any key or tap the touch panel to turn the backlight ON.
If a key is not pressed or the touch panel is not tapped within the backlight illumination duration, the backlight
function remains enabled, however the backlight itself will turn OFF or dim.
The backlight illumination status can be controlled by entering a value at the Backlight.Status property, regardless
of the status. Furthermore, the illumination status can be acquired by reading the property value.
(*1) If key-press has not been set for the key backlight illumination factor, the key backlight will not
illuminate even if keys are pressed. If, however, keys are already illuminated prior to being pressed,
the key backlight will not turn OFF when buttons are pressed.
(*2) If screen-tap has not been set for the key backlight illumination factor, the key backlight will not
illuminate even if the screen is tapped. If, however, keys are already illuminated prior to tapping the
screen, the key backlight will not turn OFF when the screen is tapped.
(*3) Only the device set for the illumination device illuminates.
